Couple weeks ago my organization, IRIS, asked me if I want to participate on their Fundraising Art Show with the theme "Layer of Diversity". Of course, I do. Since that day I wondered what should I draw. Finally I got and Idea to draw the world map on a maple leaf. I choose maple leaf because this kind of leaf is pretty common in Iowa, my city. I choose the to put a lot of color because beside it's pretty, also because it symbolized the 'diversity'. I'm trying to put natural color for leaf in it. Also the background, I draw texture of water with white lines on the mixed gradation of light blue and greenish base. With those colors, people could balance their vision with the leaf that full of bright colors, so the center of attention still on the leaf. From this project, I learned how to use my imagination more and more, I learned how to decide the color that I will apply on my project, to make it look better for people who see it.
